The Hans Igler Vulcano Cuve 2020 is a powerful, elegant red wine from Burgenland that impresses with depth, structure, and plenty of character. This distinctive cuve comes from the traditional Hans Igler winery in Deutschkreutz, which has been one of the flagships of Austrian red wine production for decades. The Vulcano is a true classic of the house and is only bottled in particularly good years with such expression and finesse as the 2020 vintage.

The cuve is composed of Blaufraenkisch, Zweigelt, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon a powerful combination that combines fruit, spice, and structure in perfect harmony. The vines grow on a mixture of gravel, sand, and clay soils, which give the wine its mineral freshness and depth. Fermentation takes place in closed steel tanks at 2830C, followed by a 14-day maceration period, subsequent malolactic fermentation, and 15 months of aging in barriques, 50% of which is in new oak. Bottled with natural corks, this cuve’s full potential unfolds perfectly in a 1.5-liter magnum bottle. Drinkability extends until at least 2030 perfect for wine lovers with patience.
