2022 Sota els Angels ‘Flow’ Blanco Emporda, Spain

Flow White is a versatile and vibrant natural white wine with a twist: its primarily a Blanc de Noirs, made with red grapes, pressed directly with no maceration on the skins. Specifically, its made of 79% Carignan from the Sota Els ngels biodynamic and certified organic estate vineyard, planted at 150m altitude on silty loam soils with silica, blended with 29% Grenache Gris this year, which Fredi Torres says gives the wine an aromatic lift. Grapes are harvested by hand and pressed gently in whole bunches. Fermentation of each variety takes place separately with native yeasts, followed by 6 months of aging in stainless steel tanks before blending and bottling with a light filtration. (12mg/L TOTAL SO2)
