The first vintage under Symington family ownership was the 2017, and the grapes were vinified on site in the estate’s well-equipped winery. The debut vintage couldn’t have been more auspicious and we produced some very good white and red wines. The exceptionally hot and dry debut year showed the benefit of the vineyard’s altitude, which ranges from 1607 to 1804 feet. 2019 saw the release of three wines in the US, two reds and one white.
Tasting Notes:
Taifa 2020 is the debut release and is limited production. The wine’s aroma is a seductive combination of honeysuckle, sea breeze with minerality, hints of vanilla, and a light, toasty undertone. The rich texture offers creamy flavors of apricot, quince, and a subtle trace of honey, balanced by citrous acidity.
