For the Ferrers, whose Spanish sparkling winegrowing experience goes back generations, the potential of Los Carneros was unmistakable, even before it became an established AVA. They recognized the ideal climate for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay – and thus the perfect terroir for brilliant sparkling wines. Warm days, cool nights, predictable winds, summer fog, and a long growing season coax grapes to maturity slowly and consistently with a desirable balance of sugar and acidity. They immediately began planting the estate.

Tasting Notes:
This light-bodied sparkling wine displays a slightly pink color, resulting from a special pressing technique. Bright strawberry and black cherry aromas with subtle vanilla highlights. Creamy cherry, lemon, and cola flavors combine with a lush palate, small, lively bubbles, and a persistent finish. This Blanc de Noirs is predominantly made from hand-harvested Pinot Noir grapes, the hallmarks of which are a vibrant red fruit character. The creamy palate and rosy hue are a result of a small addition of Vin Gris, which was blended into the base cuvee. Over forty different clones and selections of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are planted on their 340-acre estate in the Sonoma Carneros district. This allows us to consistently produce cuvees with complexity and clear fruit expression. Outstanding with crab, Thai cuisine, roast pork, quail, foie gras or semi sweet desserts. Seasoning a nities include star anise, plum sauce and tarragon.
