At first, they were in the money exchange business and deeply involved in the community. In 1860, the village headman and founder started making sake. The Kichibee name has been carried on for eleven generations, and in 1866, it became a trademark. ‘Born’ comes from Sanskrit and means purity or truth, reflecting the brewery’s belief in second chances and hard work paying off. During the Showa era, Born sake was used for Japan’s ceremonies and events.
This sake goes well with delicate Japanese food, as well as dishes with butter, cheese, or olive oil. It has a refreshing Ginjo aroma, a rounded flavor, and a clean finish.
