In 2018, the Koskenkorva distillery was awarded the Green Company of the year. Our distillery employs a circular economy, meaning that in addition to our barley-based vodka, our plant produces starch and raw materials for animal feed, we have our own bioenergy power plant, and thanks to renewable fuel, we have been able to decrease our carbon dioxide emissions remarkably. It’s true we are proud of our award, but we never set out to win anything. We just meant to make one of the world’s best vodkas in a way that caused the least waste because, well it just makes sense.
