The genetic mother of Tequilas Blue Weber agave, Espadn typically takes 7 12 years to mature & is the most prolific species used in mezcal. Terroir and the makers hand mean that Espadn styles vary greatly. Vago Espadn by the very modest Emigdio Jarqun was awarded Double Gold & the coveted Best Mezcal at the 2019 SFWSC and Best Mezcal in the World in the 2020 World Tequila and Mezcal Awards.
